5 Things to Do In Manly This Summer Manly Fresh Produce Markets

Manly is one of the hottest destinations in Sydney, and once you visit, you will know why. Located just a short 30-minute ferry ride across Sydney’s gorgeous harbour, Manly is highly accessible and offers a tonne of things to do for both locals and visitors alike.

Manly is also one of the hottest destinations with guests of Beach Stays, especially in summer. Year after year, we welcome guests from Australia, as well as international guests, who have added Manly to their itinerary because of its many family-friendly attractions, restaurants, entertainment options and events.

Today, we take a look at five of the best things to do in Manly this summer.

Take a scenic walk around Manly

There is no better way to see Manly than by taking a walk on one of the many walking tracks. The Manly to Spit Walk is by far, the most famous coastal walk in Sydney, and there is no better time to do it than Summer.

The Manly to Spit Walk covers a 10km track that spans from Mosman’s Spit Bridge to Manly Beach. Along the walk, you will pass Fisher Bay, Forty Baskets, Sandy Bay and Clontarf Beach, and enter the Sydney Harbour National Park. You will pass Grotto Point and Castle Rock, amongst other local sights.

Visit Manly Markets

Whether you like to shop or not, Manly’s many markets are in full swing over the summer weekends. Some of the best markets in the area include the Manly Fresh Produce Markets and Manly Marketplace.

Manly Fresh Produce Markets are held every Sunday on Sydney Road & Short Street Plaza from 8 am to 2 pm. As the name suggestions, it is where you want to go for fresh produce and fresh-cut flowers. You will also find other stalls and many gourmet delights.

Manly Marketplace, located on Manly Rd, just 100mt from the beach, is known for its eco-friendly items, handcrafted jewellery, vintage clothing and artwork.

Spend a day on the beach

There aren’t too many beaches that can top Manly Beach. So, it only makes sense that this is a place you would want to frequent in summer! As one of Australia’s most famous beaches, Manly Beach is a hot spot over summer. If you’d prefer something a little less populated, head to Shelly Beach or visit Freshwater Beach, which is a short walk north of Manly.

Go Kayaking

Kayaking is one of the most popular watersports in the Nothern Beaches, and that is due to the harbour and Manly Dam. With the sunshiny weather that summer brings, it’s a great time to give it a go if you have never done it before. To do so, the Manly Kayak Centre is your best option.

You can hire a kayak or take a guided kayak tour around the harbour to see the hidden treasures of Manly and its surrounds.

Learn to Surf

What would a summer visit to Manly be without at least trying to get up on a surfboard? Learning to surf is a popular activity for locals and tourists alike over summer, and Manly Beach is just the place to do it.

Manly Surf School is the leading surf school in the area and has lessons for young and old. Give you a go, you never know, you might even surprise yourself.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for somewhere different to go this summer, how about Manly? Located just a short ferry ride from Sydney Harbour, Manly is home to an array of attractions, activities and events that are suitable for all ages.
